The 5 Greatest Things about Photography!

1. Traveling to a new location. Photography is great for people who enjoy spontaneous adventures. Clients have all types of media needs which allow us to explore many photo shoot options. Whether it’s a lovely landscape for your lawn care business or capturing guests at your restaurant, it’s always a great challenge. We love being out and about collecting images that tell the story of your business journey.

2. You begin to see the world differently. When you begin to photograph; you become aware of subtleties that went unnoticed before. You start to love how the wind softly blows wisps of hair across your daughter’s face or the way the sun shows the silhouette of your body. Sometimes even in bad weather, I wonder how I can capture the beauty of the event. Begin to look for framing opportunities. Did you know something as simple as taking a step to your right or left can make the narrowness of a walkway more dramatic? Get a new perspective daily which keeps you intrigued and always wondering.

3. Becoming the best photographer you can be is hard!!! I love the challenge of making my photos better and better every time I shoot. Sometimes it’s downright frustrating when lighting in a certain situation isn’t working. Perhaps environmental obstacles restrict the composition. The challenges go on and on. Ask any photographer and they can rifle off a few hassles. But it’s the love and challenges that keep us picking up our camera bags. Today is the day to capture something amazing.

4. Normal can be interesting! I like trying to figure out ways to find something interesting in normal objects. This helps me remember why I love certain things. A simple old throw cover can be viewed in a new way. I love the texture of this particular throw and the sheen of the fabric in the picture. It’s so cozy yet appealing to the eye. Take the time to rediscover simple things that bring you comfort and happiness. Your audience will have an opportunity to rethink the mundane and join in the rediscovery process with you.

5. Looking up feels good doesn’t it? I constantly forget to look up. Most days I’m immersed in thought, on my phone or trying not to get lost. Smartphones and mobile devices make it so easy to get absorbed in communications. We all have been victims of tunnel vision and don’t enjoy the fullness of our surroundings. Becoming a photographer has made me much more aware of not only smelling the roses but, taking the time to look up. You may see things in a new light.
